Replace or Restore?
We work with quite a few service centers responsible for large commercial jet inspections. As an inspection gets underway, windows and lenses are reviewed. On large corporate jets, inspection time make keep the jet out of service for a few weeks. If caught early, windows can be restored without being pulled. Some windows may require being pulled for proper restoration. All of which can be accomplished during down-time with planning.
The real issue is who can determine if a window needs replacing or restoring? Can a mechanic or technician know what to look for to determine if $30,000 or $1500 has to be spent? The majority of small chips, crazing and abrasion damage can be repaired. It’s best to contact NewView for a solid answer to that question. If the value for restoring several windows is there, NewView will do an on-site inspection. If it’s a single or a few windows or a few lenses, those can be shipped (postage return) to NewView for a free inspection.
In the photos below, lenses appear to have extensive damage inside and outside. The photos below before and after restoration that was accomplished. When you need to know, work with the company that does know . . . clear view by NewView!
