 Our History

Bottermans receive Award

NewView Technologies, Inc. was founded in 1996, and specializes in repairing aircraft windows, including private, corporate and air carrier aircraft.

There are only a limited number of companies in the world performing this type of aircraft window repair service, which can save aircraft owners tens of thousands of dollars over the cost of replacing windows.

In 2001, demand for aircraft maintenance grew in the Fox Valley (Wisconsin). In response, NewView Technologies expanded its services to include single-engine and light twin-engine aircraft maintenance. In 2002, we added aircraft static system, altimeter and transponder avionics testing.

We have mobile service available for window restoration throughout the midwest to many corporate clients. Call for details.

NewView Technologies, Inc. is a member of the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce, Wittman Regional Airport Group, Fox Valley Technical College Advisory Board, National Aviation Business Association, and the Wisconsin Aviation Trades Association.

NewView Technologies, Inc. vice president, Bruce Botterman attended Blackhawk Technical College in Janesville, Wisconsin, receiving his Aircraft & Powerplant Certificate in 1966, and his Inspection Authorization in 1970.  He worked for United Airlines through 1969 when he decided to make general aviation his career and became part owner of a large fixed base operation in Appleton. He began as shop manager, then later was appointed general manager and served in that capacity until he sold his interest in the business in 1995. Rae Botterman is president of NewView Technologies, Inc. She manages the frontend office and administration duties for the company.

Aviation Business of the Year - 2003

NewView named aviation business of the year
By Nick Sargent of the Northwestern

It was 50 years ago when Bruce Botterman made a prophetic statement to his future wife, Rae, while the couple drove through suburban Chicago.

“It was 1962 and we drove by this small place called Bruce’s Automotive and I said to her, ‘It would really be nice to have our own aviation business one day, and it’d be nice to have a hangar and have it say Bruce’s Airmotive on the side,’” he remembered.

Except for the name – the couple’s business is called NewView Technologies -- the dream came true. And last week, the dream got a little sweeter for the Bottermans when the Wisconsin Aviation Trades Association named their business the Wisconsin Aviation Business of the Year.

“I feel very blessed to have the best partner anyone could ask for and have the best business partner someone could have,” Rae Botterman said. “For me personally, this is a dream come true.”
It was a role reversal for Bruce Botterman at the organization’s annual conference in Madison where the Bottermans picked up the award. He is the trades association president and typically presents the award to the winner. But this year, he was the one giving the acceptance speech.

“It feels good to know our peers recognized that we’re forward thinking and provided services that really didn’t exist at the airport here in Oshkosh,” he said. “The award is so meaningful because we’re recognized by peers in our industry.”

The Bottermans established NewView in 1997 with more than 30 years of aviation business experience under Bruce’s belt. They bought the assets of a defunct Texas company that provided window repair services after realizing Northeast Wisconsin was underserved in that area, he said.

His latest lecture was at the Minnesota DOT / Aeronatuic Conference in the spring of 2011. Bruce led a class in maintenance topics covering window restoration, crack repair to non-pressurized windows and had a booth at the conference attended by Rae Botterman when Bruce was in class. Together, they served the Minnesota I&A attendees.
